Why are people scared?

An Entrepreneur documenting his journey while providing some insight along the way.

I have a lot of friends that are really money driven and are constantly complaining about their day job. Many of them have their business ideas they want to pursue, but the problem is this.

They’re scared.

What I’m starting to find out is when people don’t want to do something or aren’t sure about doing something they create excuses. These excuses aren’t excuses they’re cover ups for being scared.

What could they be scared of?

It’s pretty simple, failing.

Society is rough now a days, with social media being a HUGE part of our lives people judge every move you make. People are judging who you’re hanging out with, who you’re dating, what you’re doing with your life, what you’re posting, anything you can think of people are judging you. I feel bad for the kids going through High School/College, the stuff I’m hearing is getting out of hand.

There’s a lot of pressure, especially if you decide to go on your own. People are going to be very jealous of you, trust me.

Why do they get jealous?

That’s an easy question to answer, they get jealous because they’re to scared to do what you’re doing. They don’t have the ball/guts to quit their job and work full time pursuing their dream with out pay. They don’t have the ball/guts to tell their parents or significant other. They don’t have the ball/guts to figure out a way to make something happen.

I apologize for the language in this next sentence.

They either talk shit behind your back or in front of you. Then you have the people who don’t say anything at all, but judge the shit out of you from a distance.

I wrote a previous post about people not supporting other peoples dreams here. Feel free to read it I’ve been getting a lot of positive feedback on it.

Anyway, this is part of the reason why people don’t want to chase their dreams.

It’s to much pressure from all angles, think about it for a second.

Say you want to start your own company at 25. By now you’re probably paying rent, do you have enough money saved up to pay rent and work on your business full time?

Maybe

Are you confident enough to tell your family, friends and girl/boyfriend?

This is the stage where my friends quit.

These people are going to give you their opinion on the subject matter and 99% of the time you’re not going to agree or like what they have to say. If you truly believe in what you want to do then you already know what to do…

Just do it.

I try to tell all my friends, stop making excuses and figure out a way to make it happen. We’re young and have less responsibilities. If you continue to wait until you get older or have more money, it isn’t going to work you’re going to have more responsibilities than you did before.

I quit my job in November 2017, took out my life insurance fund and now I’m selling my car.

Do you think I’m doing this for shits and giggles? No I’m doing this because I believe in what I’m building/doing.

You have the mentality of, it’s you & people that support you, against the world.

If you’re having trouble making this decision to go all in then you really don’t believe in what you’re doing. I’m telling you right now you aren’t ready for Entrepreneurship, this is a grind and if it was easy everyone would be doing it.

I always try to tell people what do you have to lose?

So you blow through a couple hundreds maybe thousands of dollars.

So what?

It’s not like you’re never going to make that money back. In the end you’ll learn more on this journey than you would in school or at your job.

I love what I’m doing, I get to make my own schedule and work when I want and now I’m documenting my journey. I even get to go to local coffee shops and work for hours building my business.

Of course there are negatives to what I’m doing, but thats with everything in life. If something or someone was perfect, it wouldn’t exist. I have my down moments, that’s where I lean on my girlfriend/family to help me get through them and I encourage you find those types of people in your life.

I’ve heard a lot of GREAT ideas from many of my friends and not ONE of them are taking action or even trying.

I don’t want you to think I’m arrorgant as you read this post. I’m really passionate about what I do and more importantly, helping others.

I love seeing other people succeed and that’s all I’m trying to do with this post.

If you’re reading this and thinking about being an Entrepreneur here’s some advice…

Screw it, roll the dice
