So I’ve been following the Influencer industry for a couple of years now and it’s insane how fast it’s growing. The issue still is that Influencers are being forced to spend a lot of time on these massive social platforms and their not getting paid for it.
Reason 1 — Build A Community
Instagram, TikTok, Clubhouse, etc allow these Influencers to build MASSIVE communities, which gives these Influencers the power to be their own brand. The issue is these Influencers are only making money by selling their own merchandise or from brands paying them to promote their products.
So I ask, why aren’t these social platforms paying the Influencer?
There are platforms out there like Patreon that will pay the Creator for offering exclusive content to their community. The issue with this is that the Influencer still has to commit more time to pumping out content that their community will stay subscribed to.
Reason 2 — Community Is Power
Once the Influencer has built a community on these social app the power is now in their hands.
This is great and all, but the issue is these Influencers have to be careful on what they promote to their communities…
