By Aj Picard founder of Chad App
This week I rediscovered the app Anchor and to my surprise they’ve done a MASSIVE pivot since I last two used the app. Back in 2014 Anchor was an audio based social media platform, you would record your voice and the audio snippet would be posted on your newsfeed. People could then respond to this snippet with their own voice… Anchor wanted to get rid of users interacting through “text”.
Fast forward to 2019 and I came across Anchor on Product Hunt, it had the same logo and name. The difference was when I opened the app for the first time and came to realize that Anchor pivoted their app from an Audio focused social media platform to a podcast platform.
There are so many different podcasts to listen to inside of Anchor, what separates them from the rest is that you can record a podcast, add sounds and sponsors easily. I can open the app anywhere and start recording and edit the podcast right inside of Anchor.
I started a podcast on Entrepreneurship, I’ve learned a lot of information over the past year + trying to get my startup Chad off the ground.
For those who don’t know Chad is a new social media app helping people/businesses connect with others in a surrounding area through location based chatrooms.
You can download it here.
I have friends going into Entrepreneurship and some of them reach out to talk to me. I love providing my opinion on their situations, but more importantly I enjoy informing them on everything I’ve learned.
The point of my podcast is to give back and to help Entrepreneurs succeed with their startup. The name of the podcast I created is called Entrepreneur Life and you can listen to it here (we’re on all the podcast platforms if you don’t feel like using Anchor)
I’ve been doing it for five days and have posted a podcast a day. I’ve actually been getting a lot of positive reviews on it which led me to write this blog post.
Every Entrepreneur should be podcasting.
I believe in this statement because I think Entrepreneurs should be communicating/venting more about their journey. I find podcasting as a great outlet to manage my anxiety, being able vent about the ups and downs helps me a lot. Plus it’s always a great idea to document your journey, because as you grow you can go back to see how far you’ve come. It even allows other Entrepreneurs to learn from you so they don’t make the same mistakes you did, in the end increasing the chances of success for other Entrepreneurs… talk about a win win for both parties.
Conclusion
If you’re an Entrepreneur please reach out to me, I want to hear from you. You never know maybe we can help each other succeed! It’s great to connect with another like minded individual who is going through the same journey as you are, it keeps you motivated.
