- Some platforms require Creators to hit their platform guidelines before they start earning… If you’re on Youtube you have to have at least 1000 Subscribers and 4000 total watched hours on your content before you start earning. Instagram requires you to have at least 10k followers. TikTok requires you to have at least 1000 followers.
These guidelines can be a huge roadblock especially small/medium sized Creators like myself. I was trying to become a Creator on Youtube for a year, putting in 20–30 hours a week creating content. After a year, I never hit Youtube’s guidelines. I couldn’t believe after putting in hours and hours of work and having over 1,600 Subscribers I never made a cent from Youtube.
